The metal rod of the sensor, immersed in the soil, is periodically heated, and the degree of soil moisture is determined by the time it cools down. The length of this cable, if necessary, can be increased using a special extension cord (must be purchased separately) to 105 meters. The sensor operates on 2 AA 1.5V LR6 batteries - not included.
