Description

The RPU Ridder PositioningUnit is a high-precision digital positioning meter for use in Ridder RW gearmotors, making it the ideal solution for obtaining precise positioning data for ventilation, protection and lifting systems. The current position is constantly monitored by the RPU and the position is fed back to the climate controller via a 4-20 mA signal. The RPU can be used with all Ridder RW gearmotor types that are equipped with the Ridder RSU limit switch system. The RPU can be supplied separately or integrated into the RW gearmotor. The 4-20 mA signal from the RPU is generated by a Hall sensor integrated in the RPU and a magnetic axis mounted above it. The magnetic axis rotates contactlessly and is mounted on the limit switch shaft of the RSU limit switch system in the Ridder RW gearmotor. This non-contact measurement technology means that the value of the RPU feedback signal always remains constant and that the RPU is maintenance-free. During operation, the RPU continuously measures the position with a high degree of accuracy of 0.04% of the measuring range that has been taught. Based on this measuring signal, the RPU calculates a 4-20 mA signal that must be fed back. This signal is reversible. Using an ohmic resistor, a 0-5 V or 0-10 V feedback signal can also be generated. The RPU is equipped with an operating button and LEDs so that its status can be easily read. The RPU is easy to install and easy to "teach". Typically, the measuring range to be taught will correspond to the switching range of the RSU limit switch system. The end positions taught for the RPU measuring range (SP1 and SP2) will then correspond to the RSU end positions (ES11 and ES12). It is also possible to set one of the end positions for the RPU measuring range as the end position for the limit switch system. The RPU measuring range will then be smaller than the switching range of the RSU limit switch system. This is one solution for systems with a switching range that exceeds the measuring range of the RPU being monitored (between SP1 and SP2). This option also makes it possible to teach in an RPU with the same measuring range for independently controlled systems with different switching ranges for the limit switch system.
